For those interested, here's the schedule of Club Only Competitions.  We will have the CAMRA judging at the monthly meeting listed below.

January 2012
Dark Lagers

February 2012
Stouts

April 2012
Scottish and Irish Ales

August 2012
Porter

September 2012
Light Hybrid Beers

Olde Ale

For Club-Only competitions, how many bottles need to be submitted and how many to plan for to send forward?  Also, how soon do we need to announce if we're entering?  Thanks, Kirk!

Kirk,

In the past, we have only needed one bottle to bring to the CAMRA meeting.  If your beer wins, then you make arrangements to send the beer to the club-only competition site (paperwork and shipping) and CAMRA reimburses you.  I am pretty sure I only had to send in two bottles the last time I submitted.

With, probably not on... because I used D47, it is going to end up as a sweet mead.  Sweet, hot, with a little smokey character...

9 lbs of honey into 3 gallons with 5 chipotles...

After 3 months it was only down from 1.117 to 1.028 when I racked it.  I haven't checked it since early December...

The AHA gods have been kind to me this year - no Mead competition for the 2012 year. 

There is nothing planned for 2013 or 2014 for mead either, but there are several dates with no category selected yet.
