Dubbel Blind Tasting
« on: May 27, 2011, 08:57:19 AM »

I am thinking about doing a blind tasting of commercially available dubbels, and chucking into the mix the dubbel I brewed with a couple of guys from Fredericksburg and Richmond to see how it stacks up.

Not sure of a date yet, but is anyone interested?

Might I suggest that everyone interested should bring a bottle (or 2) of dubbel?  That would give us a substantial flight to work with.

Glad to see there is a bit of interest in this idea.

Before setting a date/time for a tasting, or arranging where to have it, what would be some absolute must have beers in the flight?

Must haves:  Chimay Red, Westmalle Dubbel, La Trappe Dubbel
Other suggestions: Allagash Dubbel, Corsendonk Brown, Maredesous 8
Sure I could come up with more, but I think among these is a pretty solid offering.
