You should be.  I have seen those kits before and I am also skeptical of how they work.  The small surface area of the small barrel would throw the aging process out of wack, if you ask me.  But, I have not tried it before, so I can't speak from experience.

I think that's the idea though... "Because of the small barrel size, the aging process is significantly accelerated with nicely aged whiskey available in 3-6 months (you be the judge!)."
