I'm good for two or three bags. I'm planning on some Fawcett Marris Otter (TF-MOPA). I'd also like to get some Fawcett Brown Malt (TF-BRWN), but a 55# sack is a lot more than what I need. I like porters, but that's a bit much.
Does anyone want to split the sack of Brown with me?

I'd take 10 lbs of it.

Bump. The first post of this forum thread links to the grain buy I mentioned at the February CAMRA meeting. If you still want a 55lb sack of grain at a stupidly ridiculously good price, then good news for you... This group buy still needs 1 more bag! Please help us out and get a good deal for yourself!

Is someone driving down to NC to pick this up?

No, someone isn't driving to North Carolina. NC stands for "North Country Malt", the company we're buying from. The pallet gets delivered up here, usually to a business where they can handle pallet deliveries. Matt (the gracious organizer) gets all the grain to his house in C-ville where the buyers pick-up. The idea with a group buy is to cut shipping costs in addition to getting wholesale grain prices. Shipping for a pallet of 42 bags runs about $4-7 per bag this way, whereas normally shipping costs run ~$25 (almost the cost of the bag of grain!).
This order is now full. If there is enough interest, we could start another bulk buy. There are other members of CAMRA with North Country accounts. But this order stalled for a little while, and we waited 3 days since the February CAMRA general meeting just to get the final bag ordered. My guess is there isn't enough people to fill a 42 bag order currently.
