My brother and I have been working on a collaboration project with Mike Tonsmeire, the author of The Mad Ferementationist. The basic idea was to brew one of his recipes, in this case a failed batch he tried of Foreign Export Stout, and see if we could get close to what he intended the beer to be. Basically, it is sort of a clone a homebrew attempt. The other main reason for the effort was to kick off what we hope will be a couple more collaboration style projects in the future. Ones that are not simply writing about beer (the purpose of a blog, I know), but actually result in some brewing.
