I plan to bring my scaled back clone of Pliney the Elder. It has the same hop profile as Pliney, but far fewer hops! The recipe was in an issue of Zymurgy from last summer.

Let me remind everyone that the AHA club-only competition for March/April 2010 is American Ales, BJCP category 10 (American Pale, Amber, and Brown). Entries are due April 3rd. I would encourage anyone that has beers in these categories to bring them next week so that we, as a club, can choose an entry to submit on behalf of CAMRA.
Thinking ahead, the club-only competition for May 2010(the final competition for this season) is due May 1st. The category is Extract beers, all BJCP categories 1-23. I will be bringing a baltic porter and a bohemian pilsener, both made via extract and steeped grains, to the March meeting. I hope to get some feedback from club members to see if either of these beers might be potential contenders for the May competition.

Spidey - Regarding the AHA Club-only competition, I'm dead in the water. I was planning to brew another American Brown (Janet's Brown) batch, but just never found the time.
And I did do a quick extract batch of a Berliner Weisse months ago, but I don't think the lacto del will do its job before May 1st.
Thanks for the reminder.

I'm thinking I'll bring my Doppelbock and my Flanders Red.
If not, maybe the Eisbock or something else tricky.

Hmmm, I also have my sour Saison and my sour Saison dry-hopped with Amarillo.
We'll see.

This is going to be great!
Just keep in mind that we'll have tasting every month, so don't blow your wa...er, well, I mean don't feel like you have to bring everything for March. If it goes well, we'll be doing this every meeting.

Good point Christopher. I might just bring one beer this time. I don't think there will be any shortage of homebrew.
Furthermore, I think HOW we go about tasting homebrew should be discussed at the next meeting. Perhaps before we start just randomly pouring, I have some ideas that I'd like to pitch. Having attended a number of Michael Jackson tutored tastings in the past at UPenn, I have a vision of what I'd like to see happen.
Some ideas to consider:
1) Filling out BJCP sheets. I find the descriptors more helpful than the scores, because then the brewer can know how the beer was perceived. I like the check-box version for ease of use. I'll bring a bunch of copies for everyone.
2) Everyone tasting the same beer at the same time, and discussing it before moving on to the next.
3) Hearing from the brewer, what their intentions were, just prior to and during sampling.
4) Shooting for tasting similar style beers rather than a smattering of BJCP categories 1-23. They don't even have to necessarily be the same style, just some common theme (e.g. dark malts, high IBUs, unusual fermentables, etc). For this reason, I may likely just bring my Baltic porter, for instance, because I think it will be fun and interesting to compare it with Matt's vanilla bourbon imperial porter and Jamey's doppelbock. Anyone have a stout to throw in the mix?
Well, there's some ideas to chew on until Tuesday.

@Greg - It is more of a Procrastinator.
Is the Bruenator going to be there?

I plan on bringing some Dubbelwide Dubbel (same batch as Greg Bruen's dubbel, from Teach a Friend to Homebrew Day) and some Mirror Pond clone Pale Ale (could be considered an American Ale). I am glad we are finally having our first tasting at Timberwood.
