BeerSmith software
« on: February 09, 2010, 04:51:58 PM »

I would appreciate hearing rants and raves from users of this software.

I've already purchased it so if anyone is interested I'll give my own rants and raves later.

I must say that I like BeerSmith, for the most part.  It has a wide variety of tools and is under active support and development, unlike ProMash, which is a great piece of software that is currently unsupported.  I find their tools to be the most helpful, as well as using it to develop and track recipes.  I don't really use BeerSmith to track ingredients and supplies, though I understand it is a nice feature of the software.  My biggest gripe about BeerSmith is the interface, which could use a facelift.  Navigation around the software is not generally intutive and I find that I only use it for those tasks I have become comfortable with.  I have learned some things from the tutorials, but in general, I only use the basic features.  I think they could also upgrade the way reports are generated.  There are some simple templates, but they could do a lot more in this department to allow for easy export to HTML formats or common blogging formats.

That is my two cents.
