I'd love to go in on a Freshops order--their jumbo rhizomes are well worth the extra few bucks, that is if they're available.

I'm in. I want Kent Goldings and Fuggle.

How are you going to make all your Imperial IPAs with that? Grin

You're just salty because I won't brew with fruit or squash or whatever.  Tongue

Come on, Christopher . . . you should make a vegetable beer!  I would try it . . . well at least a sip.

This veggie beer thread gets my vote for "funniest  forum entry". It was difficult not to laugh out loud while reading it. Maybe the few bottles of Rodenbach helped as well. On that note, Market Street Uptown had Rodenbach and Rodenbach Grand Cru. Stinkin' delicious. My Brussel Sprout Stout is in the works...

I’ve decided to stick with the asparagus APA.  People talk about a beer’s aroma and flavor with such high regard, but they always forget the most important attribute of good brew: the magical things it can do for the odor of your urine.  I’ll throw in a few vitamins to make it a nice orange color, as well.

So . . . your urine and your beer will look and smell the same, Jamey?  Interesting . . .

I placed my order for hops yesterday online at Thyme Garden Herb Company.  Here is the link:
http://www.storesonline.com/site/561124/page/217466
I chose to get them here for 2 reasons.  They seem very reasonably priced, but more importantly they had some varieties that are rather hard to find.  I bought 1 each of Fuggles, Pride of Ringwood, and Sunbeam Golden.  I'll see how each one does this year, then expand from there.  POR pellets are getting harder and harder to find, but I personally really like them as a bittering hop.  So I figure I'll just grow my own!  The Sunbeam is supposed to grow well in partial shade, and my property has a lot of trees.  Plus, I don't think I've ever seen these hops for sale (Maybe there is a reason for that?HuhHuh). Looking forward to meeting everyone tonight.

Very cool.  There seem to be a lot of rhizome sellers out there.  We just need to make sure we get in early like you did.

I've heard of POR and SG, but I have no idea what styles they are used for or what their characteristics are.  I look forward to hearing about them tonight.

I'm home during the day, so I'd be willing to have a Freshops order sent to my house. That way I can pop em in the fridge ASAP...Just let me know.
