Jamey's Racer 8 Clone
« on: January 17, 2008, 03:08:08 PM »

I had this beer when I was working on my cigar yeast stir plate (more on that later, once it is done), and I liked it.  It has a fairly aggressive hop presense, which I liked, a cool dark honey color, and a persistant cream-colored head.  The aroma was a bit hoppy, but less concentrated than I would have expected (I also had a mild cold, so that could have had something to do with it).

So, I had a couple of sips and then went to work on the stir plate.  Not paying much attention, I noted that 30 minutes had gone by since I last sipped the beer.  So, when then drank some, I was amazed at how much more prominent the flavors were.  This leads me to the conclusion that I serve my beer to cold.

To conclude, another great beer by Jamey.  I have never had the original, but if the clone is any judge, I should try to find some.

Thanks for the feedback.  I appreciate it.

I've come the conclusion, over the last few months, that I often drink my beers to cold, too.

My latest solution is to go to the kitchen, pull out the bottle and then I set it on the counter for about 15 minutes before I drink.  That seems to warm it up to about the right temp.

Sometimes I'm patient enough to let it go for 15 minutes, too.... Roll Eyes
