Potential Beer Exchange with Another Homebrew Club
« on: March 11, 2009, 08:12:29 AM »

My brother's homebrew club up in Providence, RI, asked if our club might be interested in organizing some sort of beer exchange.  The details would have to be worked out, but basically they would send down some beer and we would send beer back up in return.  Everyone would receive an exchanged bottle for each bottle they sent.  I am traveling up to RI this summer to visit and we could use that trip to conduct the exchange (so we avoid any shipping costs).

Right now I am just testing the waters to see if this is something people are interested in doing.  So, reply to this thread if you are interested and we can go from there.

Honestly, I'm a bit indifferent.  I would think the point of this is for it to be a fun activity and to get feedback, but I'm not sure if we would give and receive feedback in a timely fashion.  This seems like it might be a better thing to do with the Richmond or Williamsburg clubs.

It sounds fun and interesting, but I'm unsure of the end results and we ought to be reaching out to the closer groups (which aren't even trying to do thus far) first.

Please ignore me if I'm the outlier on this thread.

Not at all.  I tossed the thread up to collect thoughts and opinions.  I would be foolish to only collect positive ones.  As always, honesty is the best policy.  Well, I do require the everyone who drinks my beer rates it as "best I have ever drank."  I think that is only fair . . .   Tongue
