Thanks for a good meeting at Starr Hill!
« on: February 04, 2009, 10:17:49 AM »

Hey All,
I just wanted to thank Jamey, Christopher, and Tom for putting together such a fun and informative evening at Starr Hill. Mark was a great host and all the beer everyone brought was tasty as well. What are people planning to brew with their Starr Hill slurries? Plans for next month's meeting?

Thanks for everyone for coming out to the meeting at Starr Hill.  We are working on a CAMRA blog entry (yeah that thing that has not been used in 6 months) about the trip, with pictures.  Hopefully, we will have time to do that soon.

I was very impressed by all I saw on the tour and with questions with Mark.  Volume of production is really a huge issue (no pun intended) and it was amazing to see all of the equipment and how it is used.  However, it all hit home for me when I saw their hydrometer station.  Regardless of the scale, it all comes down to making a sugar water solution of a specific gravity to then feed to the yeast.  Amazing stuff.

Thanks to Jamey for putting it together.  Jamey knew Mark and was instrumental in putting the meeting together.  We definately missed him when he had to leave early, though I am glad that everyone involved in the accident is ok.
