Mash Paddles
« on: September 22, 2008, 02:33:00 PM »

Hey Folks,
Anyone know a woodworker willing to craft a mash paddle? I'd make one but my hacksawing won't necessarily do the job. Hopefully I can craft one for cheaper than simply buying one off the internet...

Greg,

I made my own paddle not too long ago.  I had some leftover finish wood from doing the windows in my basement.  I made up some plans and laid it out.  Then I cut it with my jig saw and drilled out the holes in the center and jig-sawed them together.  I sanded the whole thing, and used some clean-up files I borrowed from Christopher.  It is not the prettiest thing you ever saw, but it works great.  I can bring it to the next meeting if you would like.

Christopher is a great resource for woodworking, as he has been doing it for years.  You might want to pick is brain on it.  There maybe others who can help, as well.

Cheers.
