Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse
« on: June 10, 2008, 05:21:15 PM »

I tried this over the weekend and I did not take notes, but I felt I need to make a post about it because it was pretty amazing.

The Brooklyner-Schneider Hopfen-Weisse (I suppose the name could be longer...) is Brooklyn Brewing's Garrett Oliver's collaboration with Hans-Peter Drexler from Schneider.  They got together to make a weizenbock from each brewery using the hops local to that country.

It comes in the big, caged corked bottle that Brooklyn's Local 1 comes in, and I picked it up at the Wine Warehouse for ~$12, I *think*. It is pretty amazing.

I need to get another and write down my thoughts but it highly recommended.  Lots of wheat flavor, the perfect amount of hops and a dry saison-like finish.  I need to hunt down the Schneider version, too.
