Greg's British Bitter

Greg was kind enough to share some of his British Bitter with me when I visited his house the other night. I had an excellent time and must say that Greg brews great beer. We tried his saison, which had a wonderful aroma and taste, as well as an IPA, which was also quite good. He let me take home a bottle of the Bitter, which allowed to to sample it near my keyboard - hence this review.
The beer poured with a nice thick off-white head. It had a faint smell of malt, very clean. The beer was a deep amber color, almost red. I remembered to let this warm up to about 50 degrees, which around the traditional serving temperature for British ales. The flavor was very clean, malt focused and extremely drinkable. My wife's reaction was "Mmmmm." I guess I will be making this one soon. There was a light sweetness to the taste, but it faded quickly and was not cloying on the tongue. Overall, an excellent beer. Thank you for sharing, Greg.
Cheers.

Yeah, I second the excellence of Greg's British Bitter. This is a nice malty, but not heavy, English style ale. The diacetyl presence accentuates the malt and rounds out the character perfectly. Not to take away any credit from Greg for brewing an excellent beer, but I wanted to note that Greg brewed this one with his neighbor, Andy, who joined us at the second CAMRA meeting. If this beer is representative of what Andy can brew, then he needs to brew more often too! Props to both of you for an excellent bitter. I hope my next beer comes out this good! I have also tried some of Greg's other beers like the saison and the English IPA, all of which were delicious.
