Keg Conditioning

Fellow Keggers:
I've got a couple of batches that I want to keg condition in my spare refrigerator prior to hooking them up in the kegerator. What techniques are you all using to purge oxygen and condition your kegged beers? I'm guessing it involves flushing the headspace repeatedly and blowing off excess O2...do any of you recommend a regiment for this type of conditioning? Since I tend to shy away from secondary fermenters as much as possible, I'd prefer to simplify and head straight to the keg.

Whenever I finish with a keg I clean sanitize and fill it with co2 and flush it a couple of times storing it under pressure full of co2 (co2 is cheap compared to beer). Then when I want to fill it I release the pressure fill the keg and pressurize. All the air space is filled co2 a seal is created by pressurizing it and you are good to go to let it sit for a few weeks in your refrigerator.

That's a great idea! I'm definitely going to give it a try. Thanks muchos. Any idea of the psi level that you're holding the kegs at pre-beer?

i use about 12 to 14 psi
