CO2 refill location

Where do people get their CO2 tanks refilled in the C-ville area? And how much do you pay? While I'm at it, where is the best place to get tanks inspected?

Roberts Oxygen in town is $12 buck for a 5 gallon tank. I think a local welding place does it as well. At Roberts you give them your tank and they give you a filled one so If you've got a fancy aluminum one you can have it filled and returned to you versus exchanging it for a steel filled tank. The exchange tanks are checked and everything.

I go to Wayne's. They fill my 15 lb tank for under $15 in about 10 minutes. The best approach is to call the local welding supply places and ask about prices. When I checked 2 years ago, only Roberts and Wayne's had reasonable prices, and Wayne's was cheaper. Some of the clerks are clueless, but often they can answer. I don't think the Cville area folks deal with a lot of brewers.

I found out recently that Fifth Season is now doing a CO2 exchange program (i.e. you take them your empty tank, they sell you a full one). It is a little more expensive than the welding shops but not much. And Fifth Season has much more accommodating hours like being open until 7pm and on Saturdays.

And you get to support a local homebrew shop. I would gladly pay a little more for that.
